A recent survey released by BT Global Services and Cisco reveals mobile workers want more mobile access to do their jobs better. The overall conclusion:

“Findings reveal that it’s time for businesses to step up with respect to making investments in bandwidth, cloud capabilities, and other mobile-benefiting IT initiatives.”

As Loudin Wainwright III’s son Rufus would say, Hallelujah

Among the findings of the survey:

  • 76% of workers feel their organizations need to do more to fulfill mobility’s potential for productivity
  • 33% of workers feel companies need to increase use of cloud solutions
  • 45% of workers still don’t have wireless access to their corporate networks [Fotonotes: how is that possible?]. Of those, 2/3 feel it would have a positive impact on their work.
  • 31% feel wireless access would increase productivity and efficiency; 30% feel it would provide more flexibility; and 26% fee it would increase communications
  • 84% of IT managers feel that adopting a BYOD policy will increase competitive advantage
